About Me
Hi! I’m Liam Gerrard, ‘The Voiceover Chap’. I'm a British male voice over artist with my own state of the art recording studio. With my northern roots, straightforward, friendly and reliable approach and over 20 years experience I've worked with small companies to multinational brands. I work hard to form positive and long lasting relationships with my clients.
As a trained actor I’ve always been passionate about words and language. Taking a script, finding the voice within it and working with clients to create maximum impact.
That’s what drives me – working with new clients and building relationships. Whether its an online explainer video, a TV or radio commercial, e-learning, gaming, on-hold, animation or an audiobook – I spend time building trust with clients. I’ve got a loyal client base and I’ve worked with many of them for numerous years on multiple projects.
I’ve won and been nominated for numerous awards for my work; including a BAFTA, a prestigions ‘Earphones’ award, 4X nominated for the ‘One Voice Awards’ and an Audie.
I also guest lecture at numerous Universities on voiceover, broadcasting and radio production.
The Voice
I have a very versatile voice. Naturally northern with a husky edge, I also do a lot of work in RP (or ‘standard English, or just ‘posh!) I’m able to focus on your brand’s message and deliver it.
You may have heard me on the television, your local radio station, the in-store voice of your local leisure centre or even your favourite museum.
Whether its a corporate explainer or a cartoon voiceover for the under 5’s, I’ll work hard to find the right voice for your brand.
Acting
I trained as an actor at Mountview and have been fortunate to work with some of the best people in the business.
You might have seen me on Coronation Street, in Mike Leigh’s Peterloo, Hollyoaks, or in plays up and down the country from Edinburgh to the West End; from Shakespeare to Chekhov, in theatres including The Crucible, Manchester’s Royal Exchange, Soho Theatre, Edinburgh Lyceum, The New Vic and many more.
I’m a proud member of Equity and work to the Equity commercial rate card and also the GFTB rates which are the industry standard. I work from my own state of the art studio on the edge of the beautiful Peak District in Sheffield; Yorkshire. You can connect to me with Source Connect, SCNow, ipDTL, ISDN, Cleanfeed, SKYPE – however you like!
I can also come to you if you prefer – I’m in London at least once a week recording in different studios and can easily travel to a studio of your choice.
